Wow! Pinch me?! Are you kidding me?! Such an amazing day for the Balmert family. On June 30th, 2014, a bright and sunny, 90 degree Monday afternoon, we were able to pay off the remainder of our mortgage (just shy of $158,000) completely thanks to our Beachbody Coaching Business! How amazing is that?! PAID IN FULL receipt in hand!
First off, this wouldn’t have been possible without the Beachbody Coaching Opportunity. Heck, who would have thought that one decision I made to become a Coach after completing P90X would have literally changed thousands of lives… including our own. Goosebumps, right?! We would love to share how thankful and proud we are of our team, Team Motiv8! We are continuously inspired by you all and are completely blessed to have built not only a team of incredible people, but developed such a loving, caring, supportive family! Team Motiv8 rocks!
If you watched the video above, I hope this is living proof of what’s possible when you commit to your BIG DREAM! You can do it! You can break free! You can change your life! All it takes is the decision to change, the commitment to stick to it, and the belief to make it happen.
The rewards you see in life are direct reflections of your value to other people. If you want to accomplish more, you must inspire more. Zig Ziglar says it the best, “In order to get everything you want in life, you must first help enough people get what they want.” How true. Oh, how true!
Was it always a smooth journey?
Did we face negativity? Did we face nay-sayers? Did we face people who doubted us or called us crazy? Of course. Every single day we woke up. Hell, I remember a just a few years ago, I became so discouraged from the progress of my business; struggling to find myself, having a hard time meeting new people, struggling to overcome objections, putting in countless hours and only seeing a few dollars here and there if I was lucky. I remember my first paycheck from Beachbody was just shy of $12, and I remember thinking, “All this work for that?! Ya kidding me?!” Even had a few weeks where I didn’t make anything. Yeah, believe it or not, just a few years ago, I was making $0 a week from coaching. It was bad at times, and FAR from smooth sailing. With this came the lack of support and consistent negativity, and because of it, I nearly walked away from this.
Get this – Believe it or not, but I actually submitted my Coach Cancellation Forms to quit coaching because I let myself become overpowered from discouragement that left me vulnerable to other people to control my destiny. Sadly, I allowed myself to give into the negativity and let other people talk me out of my big dream. I let others who didn’t believe it was possible to succeed as a Coach talk me out of it, as well. It’ disgusts me to think I could let this happen… but I did. Thanks to my beautiful wife, Lindsay, and my coach Josh Spencer, they didn’t let me give up. They believed in me, some days more than I believed in myself. Because of them, I called and cancelled my cancellation request and I continued to be a Beachbody Coach. Phew, close call.

To think I nearly walked away from this all… that I almost let all of this slip away… that I nearly let negative people choose my destiny and steal my big dream away from me brings a pit in my throat. Crazy how my life would have changed due to that, and how much my family would have suffered from me giving into those “haters”. I can tell you this much, we would still have a mortgage payment if I walked away!
“Don’t do it to prove your haters wrong. Do it to prove those that support you right!”
I know we all have these types of obstacles around us daily. But you can’t give in. Stay strong. Stay focused. Stay driven. If you want something bad enough, especially for your family, you will do everything and anything to make it happen. Nothing can stop you. Nothing will stop you. I promise, at the end of it all, you will be at the top of that mountain celebrating and those who doubted you will be at the bottom regretting their decision to not join and support you for the journey.
How does it feel to be DEBT-FREE?
Funny thing is, this whole thing hasn’t really hit us yet… hasn’t quite sunk in. It’s so surreal, like a dream! Paying off our mortgage at the age of 28; a 30-year loan paid in full 28 years early… still trying to wrap our heads around it! But look out, because when it does sink in, we are going to be emotional wrecks; in a GOOD way of course! We are so blessed to have Beachbody and to be given this opportunity to walk into the bank with a check in hand.
I feel like someone still needs to come shake me and say, “CHRIS! IT’S REAL! YOU DID IT!”
If we can. You CAN, too!
Do you have debt? Do you have a family? Do you want more for your family? Do you want to remove those chains and break free? Of course you do. And so did I. I wanted the peace of mind that no matter what happens, nothing or no one can take anything away from us; especially the roof over our heads. To know that we have a place to call our own, to know my son will forever have a roof over his head is an absolutely amazing sense of comfort and peace. Those with children, I know you can relate to what I’m saying…
I am not posting this video or accomplishment because I want a “congratulations” from you all. I am posting to hopefully inspire some of you to DREAM BIGGER, and see the big picture of what this opportunity can give your family when your commitment is in the right place. Get that FREEDOM! Make this HAPPEN FOR YOU!
People live life thinking “I will always have to owe someone money. That’s the way life works.”, and sadly, the become so content with that mindset, that they aren’t able to every live in peace. The truth is, and I hope I proved it, is that you don’t have to live this way. You can break free! You can live life on your own terms! You have to dream it. Want it. Own it. Do it.
Where do you see your family in 3 years? 5 years? 10 years?… Hopefully, this video has inspired you to re-evaluate your vision and perhaps set higher expectations. If you want something bad enough, there is no limitation, barrier, wall, obstacle or speed bump that can slow you down! Don’t just watch this video and think “Congrats! Good for them.”, but leave this video with a sense of “WHY NOT ME?!”
Actually, now that I say that… the bank lady in the video asked me during the process, “I don’t understand the video recording?” I looked at her and said, “Do you have a mortgage.” She replied, “Yes. I do.” I asked her, “If you were 28 years old and you were walking into the bank paying off your mortgage in full, wouldn’t you want to record this moment?” She looked at me, smiled, and said, “Good point. We just never have people do this too often.”
