Simple Fitness Tips to Boost Results

balmerWe are always looking for an edge and advantage for us to speed up our results when we are doing our workouts, whether you’re doing a Beachbody Workout Program, or another workout program of your own. Even though we all might have different fitness goals, different starting points, different body shapes, etc… the simple reminders like the ones you are about to read are safe for everyone to apply to their journey.

Here is a simply list of six pointers you can take with you to help accelerate your transformation.

Drink your water.  Roughly 80% of your body is made up of water; the brain is 85% water and lean muscle tissue is 70% water. To find how many ounces water you should be drinking, start by multiplying your weight by .06 – so a 150lb man (multiplied by .06) equals 90 ounces of water daily.

Strive for progress, not perfection. The goal is to get better, stronger, bigger week after week. Don’t expect results to come overnight. You won’t magically wake up with the perfect body. If you strive to progress a little each week, it will accumulate and your results will come.

Out of sight, out of mind.  This is related to your nutrition. In order to see the best results possible, you must be committed to your diet. I’m not saying to starve yourself of treats, because we are all human and like to indulge every once in a while. However, some of us give in too easily and like to over indulge a little too often. To help avoid this, don’t keep sweets and treats on hand in your house, where you can easily access them when you crave them. Throw them away! Stock up on the good stuff and keep everything else out of your sight.

Focus and clear your mind.   Are you focusing during every rep of your workout? Do you know how to contract the muscle correctly?  If you plan on making any gains, you need to concentrate on the task at hand. Feel the muscle your working, think about how big and powerful it’s going to get with each rep.  Also, focus on the task at hand. Clear all daily stresses, negativity, or the hot girl that just walked in the gym. This will break your concentration and make gains come to a halt. Stay in the moment.

Boost yourself before a workout.  If you are low on energy and focus before you workout, consider a pre-workout supplement that can help you dial in and gain energy. Find a pre-workout that will give you a great boost of energy, but won’t make you crash or get the jitters. One of my favorites is the Energy & Endurance Formula.

Get plenty of rest.  You need sleep to grow. Your body releases large amounts of growth hormone and raises testosterone levels during your deep sleep. Be sure to keep up on your protein because as you sleep, you’ll take full advantage of the spike and make greater muscle gains during this recovery process. Consider casein protein (slow-digesting protein source), creatine, BCAAs, and glutamine prior to bedtime.
